Applied Shelters,
Inc. was born in April of
1981 when, at that time, the major topics of conversation were energy
consumption, conservation, alternate sources, and new methods of
building design and insulation. Since its inception we have been committed to providing high quality home remodeling
services that are sensitive to comfort and good design with absolute
honesty and integrity.
Applied
Shelters, Inc. was founded by Richard Herman. With undergraduate
and master’s degrees, he served the dual role as owner and also as an
educator at a local high school until his retirement in 1999.
Since then he has since been concentrating solely on the residential
remodeling business.

Ownership & Awards
 During
Richard's tenure as a teacher, he was given the prestigious Freedoms
Foundation Leavy Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education.
As owner of Applied Shelters, Inc., he was given the Chrysalis Award for
Remodeling Excellence in 2003. As these awards imply, excellence is the
attribute of aspiration. And this is the attribute applied to the
project of each and every client.

Statement
Our mission is to
improve existing homes in order to accommodate the changing lifestyle
and need of each individual owner. It is our goal to make available a
complete line of home remodeling services that create attractive,
comfortable living space operating economically during the harshest of
weather conditions. Good design, complete attention to detail, and
customer satisfaction are paramount in this effort.
